We are Indian couple landed in Vancouver on LMIA based work permit on Dec 2019. We are having a baby this month and wondering if we are eligible for CCB Benefits.
I have done research and noticed that Indians can take advantage of this benefit even if some one is not lived for 18 months in Canada. But I am still wondering if this is true or not. these are following conditions we met except 18 months but there is an last option highlighted which pertains to us. Can some one let me know if they have done similar.

You must meet all of the following conditions:

  • You live with a child who is under 18 years of age
  • You are primarily responsible for the care and upbringing of the child
    See who is primarily responsible
  • You are a resident of Canada for tax purposes
  • You or your spouse or common-law partner must be any of the following:
    • a Canadian citizen
    • a permanent resident
    • a protected person
    • a temporary resident who has lived in Canada for the previous 18 months, and who has a valid permit in the 19th month
    • an Indigenous person who meets the definition of "Indian" under the Indian Act

Indigenous person means aboriginal person who was in Canada before the Europeans not Indian from south east Asia.
