Hello, please I need clarification on this.
I am a PhD student who works part-time with my supervisor doing the duties of an educational counselor with her. She's a senior lecturer in one of the universities in Nigeria.
I got ITA and she wrote a reference letter in line with IRCC standard.
My concern is that I hope IRCC won't raise questions on why I am working directly with my supervisor and not the university system. I have also been on this role since I started my PhD 2021 and I don't have any other experience to qualify me for the healthcare draw. Even though I have submitted my application, I am bothered the application might be rejected.

I'll appreciate your opinion.

Very hard to commend without knowing what your education background is and what type of part-time work you were doing. Also whether this work is outside your research/thesis and independent of the university (both for you and your supervisor). How many hours a year are you working?

I studied guidance and counseling education for my first degree, worked for about a year 3 months, went for a masters in educational psychology and worked for another 2 years 6 months plus. It was after this I went for my PhD in counseling psychology. Like I said i work for my supervisor and we carry out educational counselling duties. She's a senior lecturer in the university. Some of the task are within the school while others we go to religious places to give educational counselling. Is this clear?

I work 15 hours weekly since 2021
As long as you have documentation dating back to 2021 with contracts, proof of regular pay, taxes if applicable, etc. and there is a clear differentiation as to what is related to studies and what is paid employment it should be fine outside your studies then it should be fine. Also your supervisor should have a separate business outside the university providing counselling and proof of the business if required.
