Can anyone tell me how much cash should i carry to Canada . Have gic (10,200).
Depends on your requirements. You will probably need some to get transportation to your temporary/permanent accommodation. If you are in a position to open your GIC account as soon as you land then you may not need as much.

For example in my case, I am staying in College residence, so my accommodation is taken care of and I will get a free pickup from the airport. Therefore, I am planning to only bring 100-200 CAD with me as that will take care of my basic expenses for a few days till I get my GIC account open.

If you are booking a temporary accommodation, and the owner wants cash, then you would have to bring that amount over as well, unless you can wait for the GIC.

You have to declare any amount over 10,000 CAD to the border officials, however I doubt you are going to bring that much.

As much as you want, you just need to declare it if over 10K, declaration is no big deal they just fill out some paperwork , also remember your debit/credit cards will work here.

Hi ,
I’m planning on traveling to Toronto by Feb 2021 .
Is it fine if we get the amount of cash as mentioned in our express entry application?? Or will we face an issue if we carry an amount of 10k and over ?

Do let me know
thanks
