1. The best way is to get some "Traveler's Cheque" from your home country and get it convert in Canada as and when required. Its also safe.
2. Don't forget to keep few $ 2, $ 10, $ 50 denomination and ofcourse, toonie and loonie in sufficient range.
3. If carrying cash equal to $10,000 , thn must declare the same to immigration on airport.
