How long does it take to receive a response for a "Case Specific Enquiry" on CIC website. My case is more than 45 months old, and I have sent a case specific enquiry, but even after 10 days there is no response?

Appreciate your guidance..

I believe it takes a month.

Case specific query you will get the response within 2-3 weeks my case query I got the
reply within 15 days also nothing in that response..

Can you give us your time line, as my case enter into 40 months.

Applied May 30, 2011

Citizenship Test: Aug, 2012 (RQ handed over at the time of the test). My wife failed the test, as we applied as a family.
RQ submitted: Sept, 2012
Finger Prints: June 2014
Wife's Retest: April 2015

I think now your file is moving and if your wife pass the test than I suggest that

you wait for another 4-5 weeks you will get the oath.. after test did officer

said any positive matter.. so I think your all family will get the oath soon...

Thanks for your inputs.

Well she did pass her test (20/20). The officer told her to confirm couple of things including address (as test invitation letter got lost) and call her back very soon. Lets hope for the best!

What is the advantage of case specific inquiry over ATIP?

case specific enquiry is just like you call the call centre to get information. case specific enquiry is an online method to get hold of call centre.

ATIP means that you are requesting the notes as on the file which means that it will actually tell you what exactly is happening with the file like what stage the file has gone through. It usually has notes in it.

Can you make the case specific inquiry even if you are still within the posted timelines (e.g before 36 months to non-routine cases) ? Does it cause any delays in processing?

You can make a case specific enquiry but it is upto cic if they will reply or not. I am not sure if it causes any delays hopefully not.
