Im travelling to canada on a visitor visa and one of my friend has asked to bring medicines for his mother. She is highly diabetic and the medicines quantity is huge. He has given me the doctors prescription but is it possible to bring medicines for others in large quantity. Please let me know if any risk is involved.

Not really a good idea to carry any medication or drugs for anyone else despite any assurances anyone is given about what they have been asked to bring..

Also note that legally even if the drugs are yours only a 90 day supply is allowed on each entry and then only for personal use which may imply your answer as personal use only not anyone else . It isn't even legal by the way for an individual to mail drugs into Canada.

Rather than ask on a public forum and risk breaking the law you or a contact in Canada should try to contact CBSA or search the CBSA FAQs for an official answer.

Even if the answer is a positive one which is unlikely I would expect you would need to declare at the border with paperwork to avoid any misunderstanding given penalties obviously could be severe.

This link is more aimed at travellers from Canada but the message is much same
