Is it a CITES species?

(Just checked - Doesn't seem to be CITES listed).

I suggest that you check with your vet. They will probably have the most up to date information, or know where to obtain it.

Also see http://www.inspection.gc.ca/animals/terrestrial-animals/imports/policies/live-animals/pets/birds-other/eng/1326819245810/1326819465543

You have not said where the bird is coming from, so this may apply to you.

Important: Prohibited Countries

The importation of pet birds is prohibited from certain countries in which highly pathogenic avian influenza is considered endemic.

These countries are:

Bangladesh
China
Egypt
India
Indonesia
Vietnam
