Hi,

I am moving to Canada this month with my car ( 2014 Toyota Corolla) . I am moving to a friend's house in Sarnia, ON for a few weeks and am planning to register my car, driver's license using his address until I get a job and place of my own.

I am using Geico as car insurer in USA for past 5 years since feb 2014. I have an accident on my report in January 2016 , approx. 3 years and 3 months back with 2 points in NY while I was moving to Delaware. I moved to Delaware in Feb 2016. Drivers history report from DE is clean with no points for past 3 years. I am planning to use this report to get a driver's license in ON.

Questions
1. Should I use my Car claims history report for insurance in ON? Will an accident approximately 40 months back drive up my insurance? or No claims for past 3 years will help me?
2. Should I try to get NY driver's history abstract as well to establish my driving history since August 2013? Will this hold any value at all, given 2 points approximately 3 years back?
3. Additionally, I have driver's license in India since 2008, however I dont know if that helps in any way here? and how to get driving history in India? Anybody went through this pain?

Thanks.
