hie to everyone i'm 25 weeks pregnant and can't travel back to my homeland because i am having complications and the doctor wrote me a letter not to travel. I am a musician and have a 3 year Worker visa catergory WX-1 but i don't have a work permit. For a few yrs now I have been comming to Canada at least 3 times a year and going back home.My question is how do i extended my stay since i don't want to risk travelling back whilst i'm still pregnant.
Can i apply to extend my stay as a worker or do i have to change my status to Temporary Resident

p.s. My visa expires December 31 2017 and my current 6 month stay expires November 3 2017.
Please help pregenant and confused

Apply to change your status to visitor (TRV) before your current stay expires. Make sure you include information about your current condition to explain why you are requesting the extension along with evidence from your doctor.

I'm assuming you hold travel insurance. Make sure you look into what that will and won't cover now. Generally speaking, private insurance doesn't cover costs related to pregnancy or delivery. Paying for this out of pocket in Canada can get very expensive if there are any complications or hospital stays required.

I might consider addressing your plans to pay for the delivery if you don't have insurance and your proof of funds. Not sure whether you have discussed your immigration status with your doctor but hey may be fine with you returning to your home country as long as you get a wheelchair at the airport and help with your luggage.

Paying for the delivery is not the issue my insurance will cover some of the fees so i am okay on that part , already spoke to them about it. just wanted help with which permit or application do i need extend my stay

No - you can't.

You're confusing a TRV with a TRP. You'll be applying for a TRV. Open work permits are only issued with TRPs. TRPs are special visas granted to individuals who are otherwise inadmissible to Canada (typically due to a crime). You don't qualify for a TRP and therefore don't qualify for an open work permit.
