Hi

I am planning to apply for a student visa to Canada. I just received an offer from University of Toronto for EE. I do not have a consultant but I am applying via VFS-canada. I am applying from Sylhet, Bangladesh and I have a few questions:

1. In the visa application form I see "The cost of my studies will be (Tuition, Room & Board, Others), do these refer to the total sum in my 4 years stay or is it for just one year?

2. In the visa application form I see "Funds available for my stay". Again does this refer to the entire course or just for one year. Does this have to be equal or more than the total cost of my studies (total of 4 years) or can it be any amount present in the bank account which is enough to cover my 1st year expenses?

3. My father has applied for skilled worker immigration for himself and my mother, sister and I as him accompanying family members. Do I say this on the form where it asks have you ever applied for any kind of canada visa?

4. As for paying my expenses, my father and my mother's-uncle residing in Canada are providing me with sponsorship letters. Both are quite well off financially but does the Canadian relative provide a negative point for the visa officer?

5. What documents should my father present for my sponsorship and proof that I will be back after my studies?

hi,

1-only one year expensive required for study permit.
2-yes you have to show only one year dues that are 1st year tution fee+ 1 year living expensive CAD 10000+trevel expensive CAD 3000. thats enough.
3-If your father h'v not receive any reply from CHC then you should wait and after dicision you should apply for study permit.
4-yes you can make your father for sponsership.
5-its depend on your intention after completing your study nd study plan. if you have any business etc at home country then you can give its refrence.otherwise its depend on VO.

1. Thank you for the reply Abu Bakr. I know that showing one year expenses in enough but in the visa form there is a question "The cost of my studies will be (Tuition, Room & Board, Others)", should I type $34000 (my yearly tuition) or $136000(that is 4times my yearly tuition)?

3. unfortunately it will be taking much longer so I cant wait that long. My classes start fall 2012 and immigration decision for my father will not be coming any earlier than 2013.

1 year (the amount would be noted on your LOA)

Thanks Sting. I apologize if I sound stupid but Im reconfirming this from you. My letter of acceptance says my tuition fees should be $34000/year. According to CIC yearly room and board should be $10000. So on APPLICATION FOR STUDY PERMIT I should answer as the following:

4. The cost of my studies will be:
a. Tuition $34000 b. Room and Board $10000 c. Other $3000

5. Funds available for my stay: (amount present in bank statement that is atleast $34000+10000+3000)

Please correct me if i am wrong Sting! Thanks

Here you will get some idea about living expenses in Toronto. I am not saying that it is 100% correct.

About cost of living in Toronto ( as per http://www.ischool.utoronto.ca/admissions/tuition-fees):

Accommodation $ 10,800
Food $ 4,200

Miscellaneous $ 2,400
TOTAL $ 20,250

>> I would put total available liquid money. Example: if I had 20laks in Bank account, 10 laks in savings deposit, 5 laks in somewhere else. i would add them. I mean, apnar account a taka za ache sob plus kore akhane likhe den.

Thanks again sting. But the $20000 living expense is for the super rich ones. I have relatives over in toronto who have told me that living expenses will be around $10000-12000 at max! So I would not worry about that... :D

1-do't worry guy....you are not wrong.....nd you h've written correct on application form.
2-If your father have not receive any responce then dn't mention about it on application form its better for you(its my own opinion)

yes its affvidavit from your real father if you make your father for sponser.

Hey thanks. R u sure about it? And can both my parents declare their sponsorship in one affidavit? My mother and father are both my sponsors.

Did you read the checklist / guide? If you have read it, you would have seen it there.

Answer to your question is you need separate affidavit for each sponsor.
