Hi,

I am a Canadian Citizen(June 2019), Wife(Indian), Kids(Canadian), I wish to apply for a visitor visa for my brother (Indian). I work with a Canadian firm and reside in Canada.

He is 34 years old, runs a shop in my native town in India and is divorced. He also owns a property in India and has proofs to show the shop and property. He lives along with my father (Indian) who already has a visitor visa for Canada. Mother passed away a few years ago.

After reading several threads on this forum, i felt I should ask for guidance here as I would not like his visa to be rejected. I will be providing a invitation letter to him and also my financial statements, purpose of travel will be go sight seeing and return in 2 months.

We would be applying in Mumbai Consulate.

I would request the experts and others who applied for siblings to provide their suggestions on this case.

Thanks & Regards,
SonuRP

Others can comment as well but general advice on here is to only quote in an application a visit/sightseeing as a 2-3 week trip which sounds more convincing for a vacation and not 2 months.

Ultimately once a visa has been issued then the time can stay is determined on entry and could well be 2 months or default 6 months but asking for that upfront can be a negative.

Even if has property and so on he would still need to have actual funds of his own for his trip

Can I not sponsor his trip, I am planning to include my financial statements and also declare in the invitation that I will be handling his ticketing and stay expenses?

Do I also need to provide a itinerary of his stay - like what all places he plans to visit for sightseeing and all.

Thank you.
