Hi everyone!
Hoping someone can help me with a few questions please! I'm a Canadian citizen and US permanent resident and my husband is a US citizen and we just applied for Canadian Permanent Residency(Spousal Sponsorship Outland) for us to move to Canada. I'm wondering if it's possible for me to apply for US Citizenship before we move to Canada just in case we ever had to move back to the US for some reason? I would hate to have to go through applying for US permanent residency all over again!
I've been a US permanent resident since Sept 2017 so 3 years. I've read online that if you're married to a US citizen and have been a permanent resident living in the US for 3 years you're eligible for naturalization.
I also want to be sure that I wouldn't have to revoke my Canadian citizenship by becoming an American citizen? I would want to be a Dual citizen.
Also how much does it cost to apply for US citizenship and about how long does it take to process?
Does anyone have any insight on this and whether it would be advisable to do so or not?
Any help is very much appreciated!
