i'm a canadian citizen with a foreign wife. my wife wants to come and study here in canada, and i'm the only one providing her financial support so she'll be living with me. will this be a problem when she applies for her study permit?

i can show them a bank statement proving that i have money in my savings account to pay her tuition fees, and i can also provide a job letter showing that i have enough annual income to support her while she's studying here.

lastly, will it be a problem if i have already submitted an application to sponsor her?

You can certainly be her sponsor. Having said that, it's difficult for any of us to say if the study permit will be approved. CIC may believe your wife is not a genuine student and is simply using the study permit to move to Canada before PR is approved. If you go the study permit route, make sure the program your wife selects makes sense in light of her previous education and experience.

she does't have any previous work experience because she's a fresh grad, and yes, the program she wants to do is pretty much a continuation of what she has already studied.

anyway, i think you're right. i didn't see this until now: "You must satisfy an immigration officer that you will leave Canada at the end of your authorized stay"

looks like having a spouse in canada will most likely cause her study permit to be refused. she just wanted to start studying by jan 2017 because no one knows how long her PR application will take. she's going to be so upset when i tell her this.
