Hi all
In few months from now I will be returning back to Canada after being away for 23 years.
I used to live in Toronto but my wish is to establish in Vancouver. I will be going alone to wait for my spouse until she gets her visa but that will be most likely another 6 months after my arrival to Canada.
Moneys are short and was thinking to rent a room in Vancouver somewhere close to the city and start job hunting and trying to network. After my wife arrives then we can start looking for apartment as we like!
I have no one in Vancouver and never been out west before. I chose it because of the climate and its natural beauty. Toronto is fine but too cold and too distant for me. I got many friends and relatives in Toronto so I wouldn't have any issues staying as guest as long as I wanted and they would have picked me up from the airport
Can anyone here recommend as to what type of boarding I should look for? I need to know so I can settle asap. I can accommodate my self for few days in a hotel but that is going to be for "few days"
Are there any special newcomer services in Vancouver that may assist someone to find a place or just provide guidance to the ins and outs of the city? Please note I'm not seeking financial help but just a way to find my way around to a new city and rediscover my Canada one more time!
Thanking in advance
