Canadian Pregnant....Dominican Visitor's Visa

HI EVERYONE....I am new to this forum but in desperate need of some advice.

I am Canadian and have been living in the Dominican Republic for almost the last 4 years with my common law Dominican partner.

We recently found out that I am pregnant with our first child and due Jan 30th.

Luckily, we were recently issued a visitor's visa to Canada for 6 months(without mentioning the pregnancy), which appens to expire Jan 15th, 15 days before the baby is born.

With that said, we are not looking at our options. Should we start the PR from outside Canada, or should we just wait and start it in Canada and pray that they extend hsi visa. Or just apply to change the conditions of his visa, from visit to work ?

I just need him in Canada for the delivery, I don't want to do it alone. Is CIC more flexible when the Canadian is pregnant ??

Any advice would be great !

Thanks

I think u should make up your mind that if you want your partner there for six month then starting today you have six month, if you want to apply for his sponsorship you should have to be there anyway and I don't think travelling to and fro in this condition is advisable..

He should be there for the birth of the baby because if he applies to extend his TRV 30 days before it expires and they are currently taking 65 days to process extensions, see http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/visitor.asp then he will be under implied status for 35 days after his visit visa expires. It would be stronger if you have already applied for his sponsorship at the time you need to apply to extend his visit visa. I have never heard of a couple that had already applied for spousal sponsorship to be denied an extension. I only heard of one couple that were denied before they had applied for sponsorship as they had applied for an extension before and were applying for a 2nd extension and still did not have their sponsorship application filed.
