Canadian PR Move Back to USA

Hi everyone,

I know this is more of a US based immigration question but any US forums I've come across are not very active and I thought I'd try my luck here.

I (Canadian citizen) sponsored my wife (US citizen) for PR and she has landed and been here just over a year.

If after a few years we decide we'd like to move to the USA to be closer to her family, does anyone know what the sponsorship process would be in order for me to be able to of course move with her and work, etc. From the research I've done it seems she has to be living in the US in order to sponsor me, leaving us living apart again for up to a year and a half for processing, or alternatively we could have me enter as a visitor and not able to work for that amount of time (also not ideal). Wondering if there's a way to get around the requirement for her to be living in the US to sponsor me, ie proving the intent to reside in the US after approval, in order for us to be able to move down at the same time and stay together, or if there's possibly another process that I haven't come across yet.

Other than keeping the residency requirements in mind in order to keep her Canadian PR (aware it is 2 years out of the last 5), is there anything else we should be aware of in terms of rules/requirements for a Canadian PR moving and living outside Canada for an extended time?

Thank you so much in advance, again I know this is not exactly the proper forum for my question but having a hard time finding answers!

Can't help with your US PR questions, but I can with this one.

As you are a Canadian citizen AND married, all she has to do to continue to retain Canadian PR is to reside with you wherever you live (incl. USA) and be able to prove that (official documents with the same address on etc.). It is not essential for her to also reside in Canada for 2 years out of 5.
