We are Indian couple living in US currently. My wife is on L1B and am her depedant and we have been having plans of migrating to Canada. However I have about 4.5 yrs in IT and 2 yrs in Mechanical field. As per the new immigration norms, individuals with managerial exp in IT can apply under specialized skilled category. None of my experience letters state that I am a Manager although I have played Managerial roles, due to the company org structure. Unfortunately when I was in mechanical industry I did not get the experience letters from employers then ( now am running behind them ). Recently I met a friend whom has a small IT company in Canada and is offering me a job there. But I would like to know under skilled workers category there is an option where it says "have an offer of arranged employment", so which means will they question on my past experiences or will I be granted a visa based on just the offer letter. What are the processing times these days. Are there any prompt and reliable Immigration Consultants that process the visas without much of a delay. Kindly post replies /suggestions

Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
"Arranged Employment" is a PLUS PLUS point , but you should always provide experience letters from your past employers. CIC will ask you to provide personal history since the age of 18 and you have to declare your jobs and/or education and you should submit documents to support that.

Some IT professionals with AEO are HRSDC exempt.

Thanks for your reply. I can give my experience letters. In between if we have employment offer then can we directly apply for PR ? How will that work cos PR takes about 6 - 8 months and before that offer letter may turn void.. Your opinion

I assume, once one apply for PR on basis of arrange employment; visa officer confirm it with the company which has offered the job. And as you pointed, it would take 5-8 months. So visa office may contact again to your employer before issuing visa to confirm if offer is still for you.

for example, H1b processing take time; so visa office needs recent document from office (who is offering the job)

Besides having AEO, you have to score minimum of 67 points in "six selection factors" . Applications with AEO receive priority processing.

if you have been living legally for more than 1 year in the USA, you can choose Buffalo as your processing centre.
