Canadian PR but was not in Canada during last 4 years

Hi all,
I got my Canadian PR but then moved to the US and got Green Card and since then have been living in the US. I was not in Canada during last 4 years and my Canadian PR card is valid for 1 more year.
My question is that, should I inform Canadian government that I would like to give up Canadian PR
or just let it expire?

You don’t necessarily need to inform the Canadian government that you want to give up your PR status if you don't plan to maintain it. However, if you're certain about relinquishing it, formally renouncing your Canadian PR can help avoid complications in the future, such as being questioned about your residency obligations when traveling to Canada. You can apply to voluntarily renounce your PR status through the official IRCC website.

If you let the PR card expire without taking any action, technically, you remain a PR until it's formally revoked, which may create issues if you later want to visit or reapply for status. Renouncing it officially is a cleaner approach.

I will then apply for renouncing my Canadian PR.
Do you think they will challenge me that I did not stay in Canada for 3 years during 5 year period? I just want this renouncement application to be successful.
