I am a Canadian citizen but live and work in China, married a Chinese woman 2 years ago. Is it possible for me to sponsor my wife for PR, while I am living and working in China? I cannot leave China as I have a too good of a job/ career. Once PR is accepted, can my wife be able to study in Canada? I am not sure on how to handle this situation...any help would be appreciated.

You can do it but you have to provide proof that you and wife are planning to live in Canada when she gets her PR. Some of the proof could be for example that your wife has been accepted to a school and letters from relatives maybe saying that they will offer you a place to live when you arrive. When she gets her PR, she can go for her studies and you can stay in China if you prefer.

Thanks Leon for the info.....

I have heard recently that it is difficult to get a student visa especially if the student is mid thirties of age. I didn't realize that age is an issue if someone whats to learn.

I don't know about that. They go by who they think is likely to overstay but you are not looking for a student visa, you are looking to sponsor your wife for PR.
