Which country are you from....please note that some insurance institutes have links with Canadian Insurance Institute and you may get some exemptions from 10 CIP credits based on your Home country's institute qualifications..........

Hello Mr. Daash, I am from India and I have completed Licentiateship exam from Insurance Institute of India. Will this have any exemption?
I have applied under quebec skilled worker immigration, so will this certification be recognized in quebec also?
Pls provide your comments about this.

For rest of Canada, No exemptions for Licenciate, 3 Exemptions for Associate and 4 Exemptions for Fellow

So are you a loss adjuster? have you applied under NOC 1233?

No sir, I have applied under Quebec Skilled Worker Immigration. I am not loss adjuster.

Hi Daash,

I got my passport stamped with PR visa 15 days back i.e. last last week of November and am planning to be in Canada by March 2018

I am interested in taking up insurance as a profession when I reach there. I hold an Associate Diploma of Insurance from Institute of India since 2010. During my search I got to know that Insurance Institute of Canada allows an exemption in a few subjects in one of their courses ( like CIP) if you are the above qualification.

But I realized that I did not mention about it in my PR application (as its a qualification where there is no time period FROM -TO for the course) . Its a self-study course. You need appear and clear the exams in one go or may take years to do it.So I was advised by my immigration agent/advisor not to mention it.

And since I DID NOT MENTION it in my application so I did NOT EVEN GET IT ACCREDITED FROM WES while applying for PR as I did not know that this Associateship diploma holds value in Canada.


-Have I ,unknowingly, hidden facts by not giving complete information ?..If yes what should I do ? AM I IN TROUBLE if I declare it to any Canadian Insurance body now to claim exemption in courses ?

-Is there any need to get it my Associateship Diploma accredited now , for future purpose?

Am worried about the inadvertent miss I made.
