Hi,

I have a question with respect to my work experience and want to make sure if I fulfill the requirements of work experience under Canadian Experience Class. I tried searching for answers everywhere even in this forum to see if any scenario resembles mine but I couldn't. I would really appreciate if someone can answer my question.

I have received an ITA
I have 446 points (Got ITA on February 22, 2017)
I have following experience (all under skill level A)

1. Junior Software Engineer: July 2, 2014 to December 31, 2014 (6 months Permanent Position) with T4s and reference letter
2. Software Developer: March 3, 2015 to December 31, 2015 (10 months Contract Position without T4s or pay stubs but do have a letter from employer that states total amount paid for paying income tax and a reference letter)

3. Software Design Engineer: January 25, 2016 to October 25, 2016 (10 months Permanent Position) with T4s, Record of Employment, pay stubs and reference letter
4. Software Developer: December 12, 2016 to Present (approx 2 months) with reference letter, T4 for 2016 and paystubs

My question:

1a. I do have about 18 months of non continuous full time experience after getting my post graduate work permit (if I neglect 10 months contract position). Am I eligible to apply for Express Entry under Canadian Experience Class ?

1b. In one of the forums on this site (before May 2015), they mentioned that candidates with non continuous work experience are eligible under EE CEC program but to get CRS score, it has to be continuous 1 year experience. Is this still true after amendments from May 2015 and November 2016 ?

A reply to these questions are really appreciated. Please help as my PG Work Permit is expiring in July 2017 and should make a move ASAP !

Regards,

Not clear if this is self-employment or not. If it was self-employed, you cannot use it (and you will lose the points for the 2nd year of work)

You know that one year of work experience is the minimum requirement for CEC. So what are you really concerned about?

Canadian experience does not have to be continuous. If an applicant got the ITA for the FSW program, they would need to meet the 1 year continuous experience in foreign work.

Sorry for the confusion, here is the clarification.

Your question: Is this all in-Canada experience ?
My response: Yes

Your question: Not clear if this is self-employment or not. If it was self-employed, you cannot use it (and you will lose the points for the 2nd year of work).

My response: This might be counted as self employment so I'm actually neglecting this experience in the total experience achieved in Canada. To add, I have received points for 1 year of Canadian work experience only (40 points)

Your question: You know that one year of work experience is the minimum requirement for CEC. So what are you really concerned about?

My response: I would like to make sure that this 18 months (adding only full time permanent work experience) of non continuous work can be counted for getting CRS score for 1 year.

Your question: Canadian experience does not have to be continuous. If an applicant got the ITA for the FSW program, they would need to meet the 1 year continuous experience in foreign work.

My response: The ITA I received is for Canadian Experience class. So, just want to make sure I'm eligible even with the non continuous work experience.

If you can clarify these, I'd really appreciate it.

There is no requirement that Canadian work experience be continuous.
