Hello All,

I am an International student graduate working on my after grad work permit. As part of my Applied degree program I needed to complete 8 months of internship at my work place to get credits to graduate. But unfortunately it took me longer than 8 months as I started working full time as an intern. Does that work experience count towards the work experience required to qualify for CEC ?? I have been working on my after grad work permit for 6 months now, any advise will be much appreciated.

No, work experience gained prior to graduation does not count.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/cec/graduates.asp

But you only have 6 more months to go. :)

Thanks for your reply jes_ON...I read that document just after I posted my comment :-[

I am just counting down the days now..I was about to apply through the AINP as I qualify for it now after working for 6 months on my post grad but it looks like that will take a lot longer than CEC and moreover I will be tied to to employer till AINP is processed and accepted. So might as well just wait the 6 months and apply thru CEC. ;D
