Canadian Citizenship - submitted online application two months ago but still not receive email or letter with Acknowledgement of Receipt

Hello All,

I submitted my online application for Canadian Citizenship (for myself, an adult) on June 4th 2022 but at the time of writing (August 3rd 2022) I have still not received an email or letter with my Acknowledgement of Receipt (AOR) number which will allow me to track my application status. Per the IRCC's own estimated timeframe, I should already have received the AOR a few weeks ago.

Another strange factor is that I submitted my three children's Canadian Citizenship applications after my own, but by mail, and I have already received emails for each of their applications with their AOR numbers. Maybe it always takes longer for the IRCC to process adult applications. I don't know.

I'm concerned that there's been some sort of problem and my application has not been received by the IRCC. Or, maybe the IRCC is just being very slow. Has anybody else had this same experience? Please advise if you have.

I wouldn't worry too much about it immediately. Even if you receive the AOR soon, don't lose sleep over the status. It's a long haul flight. Settle down, watch a movie, take a nap. You'll get there.
