Hello everyone

First at all I would like to congratulate all of you. This is an amazing forum.

I don't know if anyone here can give some light..

I sent the citizenship application (step 1) for my child and few weeks later I got a letter com CIC saying the Part 1 will be process in 6 weeks.

The Part 1 is just to confirm that I am a Canadian Citizen. I don't understand why my Canadian Passport and Citizenship Card can't be used to determine my citizen. I need Part 1 approval to send Part 2 of the application.

I waited for 8 weeks before I made my fist call to CIC. The status of my application was (still) "in process". Now it is about 16 weeks since they start to work on the Part 1.

I asked to send an internal message asking for an update but it was ignored. I got no answer. On the week 14 I sent a letter asking for an update.. I got no answer.

I am outside Canada with my son waiting for the Part 1 to be finish so I can send the Part 2 and return with him to Canada.

Citizenship application for adopted child doesn't requires criminal, background or medical check. also it is considered high priority.

Is anyone out there who knows how long is it taking to process Part 1 of the application?? Why they send a letter saying it will be process in 6 weeks and after 15 weeks it still in Process?

I know there is no much to be done but talk about it helps a lot..

Thank you all
