hi guys!

Im in the middle of gathering our documents for sponsoring my spouse and I got stuck on this one.

On part 3 of the spousal application package (Philippines)

8.
For any dependent child who is a Canadian Citizen or a permanent resident of Canada, a
photocopy of one of the following documents must be included with your application:
• Canadian Citizenship certificate
• Canadian passport
• Permanent Resident Visa, or
• Permanent Resident Card

My daughter is a Canadian citizen. Is her canadian birth certificate enough?
She doesnt have a passport yet.

You may want to call CIC to verify but I'm pretty sure her birth certificate should be sufficient (showing she was born in Canada), if she is young enough to reasonably expect that she wouldn't have a passport. If you don't want to risk it you can order a passport for her at your local registry office. They usually come in about 6 weeks but you can also pay an extra fee to have it fast-tracked, then you should have it in hand within a couple of weeks. Hope that helped!! You will need her to sit for passport photos though, when I renewed my passport I had my photos done at London Drugs, they do a good job and it was fairly cheap, about $15 or so.
