I am a Canadian citizen since 1982, but returned to the UK in 1990 and lived in the UK ever since. Now I wish to return and marry my high school sweetheart . What are the issues we will face ?

Nothing. You just need a valid Canadian passport to come back to Canada. Congratulations by the way!
