Canadian Citizen renewing passport...marital status?

My passport needs to be renewed. I married my wife civilly in the Philippines last May 2015. Her sponsorship application is currently being processed. In the marriage status section of the Canadian passport application form do I put "married" even though we aren't registered as being married in canada?

Yes if you are legally married. You don't have to register for marriage in Canada if you are legally married in another country, you just have to report the change to the CRA.
