Canadian Citizen but a NON Resident bringing a car to Canada as a visitor

I am a Canadian Citizen but NOT a resident and am currently living in Europe. I wish to visit Canada for a bout 4-5 months and wish to bring my car with me to Canada to drive while I am there.
Can I do so and if so what do I need to do to ensure that I have no problems at the Canadian customs once my car arrives in a container at a Canadian port?

Not sure why for 4-5 months you would want to go through the hassle/cost of a temporary import/export unless is a classic or antique car. Easier to rent a car I would have thought but anyway assume you have been here http://www.tc.gc.ca/eng/motorvehiclesafety/safevehicles-importation-index-443.htm?campaign=Twitter-eng . Expect the main challenge is to persuade CBS that you will export the car at the end of stay as will not be Canada road compliant.
