Canada visitor visa for parents of PR holder (outside Canada)

Hi friends,

I have recently got PR approved and I am going to Canada in the next month. I want to apply for Visitor visa for my parents. I asked a visa consultant and he told me that I should not apply for my parent's visa now.
First, I need to stay in Canada for around 6 months and should have a valid job, salary certificates, permanent address, credit history in Canada, otherwise there are very high chances of rejection.

I would like to ask, if any of our friends here has similar experience or have some suggestions?

I would partly agree-partly disagree with the visa consultant.

It's advisable if your parents apply for TRVs after you land as PR and settle in.... otherwise it would seem like they are moving with you which could result in TRV refusals.

You don't need to stay in Canada for 6 months + have a valid job etc etc etc (as advised by the visa consultant) before your parents apply.

Their chances would be better if you apply maybe 2-3 months after you find a job/get a couple of pay stubs + have a place to stay. Do remember that even if you have strong finances/if you offer to pay for their visit, the onus is on your parents to prove that they have independent financial resources to cover their visit + their financial situation in their home country would make them to return home

Yes, you can show her salary slips + include your marriage certificate.

Again, the key fact is your parents must prove they can afford the visit (not borrowed from anyone shortly before applying). Your/your wife's finances are secondary as the hosts
