I would like to comment on my application:
- I am currently studying in France, I got enrolled into this exchange program because I believe it’s a great opportunity to study in an English-speaking country. I’ll just be spending 4 months in Canada, it is only a temporary stay. I already spent 3 years in France, I have 2 more years in order to have my master’s degree. I am in an engineering school, it’s a special type of university in which it’s mandatory to do 5 years to get a degree. I really need this degree. I’ve been studying French since I was a kid, I am finishing my degree in France and that’s it.
- I want to explain the duration of my stay, I need to come to Canada sooner in order to visit an apartment, I’ll be staying in an airbnb while visiting apartments. It is amazingly hard to find a sublet for 4 months. I’ll be leaving 2 days later because it’s when the ticket is cheapest. I was really happy to get accepted to the program because I was always impressed by the Canadian culture and I really want to study in English , to see how it goes because studying in French is all I have ever known. I was studying french since when I was 6 years old, French and Vietnamese are the languages I grew up with. I made all these preparations: tickets, change apartment, moving, I’ll have to store my things at my friend’s place, so I could take it back in January. I have a decent apartment in France, just near my university, but I have to leave it because I want a change of pace and study in Canada, because I chose it, I picked the program because I would love to study in Canada. It is an engineering management program so I want to challenge my view on people around the world, I moved around quite a lot, I'm an international person but I never got to work somewhere else in France, Canada seems to be a great oppotunity to learn about the english speaking world.
My visa got rejected for the second times and I don’t know why,
Thank you for your considerations.
Best regards,
Nguyen Anh Tu
Few ideas and suggestions regarding your application:
1. A strong letter of explanation to explain your purpose may solve
2. Do not write "To whom it may concern", it needs to be formal. Write: To, Immigration officer, [ Adress of immigration office that you are applying, in France]
3. Do not put any uncertain statement in this letter (Third last line). We know the officer rejected because of failure to explain the purpose of this visit and financial situation. And in this letter, we will need to convince the officer.
4. Depending on your duration of this exchange program, you will either need a study permit or a temporary visitor's visa (six months or longer needs a study permit)
5. I modified the letter but you will need an expert opinion, do not give unnecessary information.
To,
Immigration officer,
[Address of visa office where it will be processed, can be found online]
Subject: Letter of explanation [or client information as it is asked on the website] for study permit [visitor's visa] for Nguyen Anh Tu (DOB:--/--/----)
Dear Immigration officer,
I, Nguyen Anh Tu, am applying for a study permit [visitor's visa] for Canada as I have accepted an offer of an exchange program for [duration] in [program name] at [Institute name] in [city], [province/territory], Canada.
I want to be a top engineer in [field] to work in [sector/field] in [Vietnam/France, depends on which country's passport you are using]. Currently, I am studying at [French institute's name] in [Program name in that institute (this is important to let the officer know your exchange program is similar. However, I am also guessing you are coming to Canada to learn English rather than the engineering field, in this case, it is equally important to explain why (i.e. English is equally important in engineering field due to global perspective)]. Previously, my visa application has been rejected as I have failed to explain the purpose of my visit and financial status. I would like to take the opportunity to explain my purpose in this letter.
I was drawn to [program name] as [Canadian Institute name] is a top engineering institute/university in Canada specialized in [your field(if you are coming to Canada to learn English, this explanation has to be according to that)]. [Canadian institute] has a great reputation which I want to exploit to build my career in [either Vietnam or French]. After my study in Canada, I will return to France to complete my master's in [program in Franch]. Please find the enclosed letter from my current institute (the letter needs to be attached in the same pdf).
To cover the cost of my stay in Canada, I will bring CAD [dollar amount (see online how much you will need)], from my personal bank account (or of an immediate family member, in this case, you will need additional notarized document). (if you have received any financial support from a Canadian of French Institute) I have received CAD [amount] from [.....] to support my stay in Canada.
.....
.....
Sincerely,
Nguyen Anh Tu
6. Good luck!!
