Canada PRs couple having a baby in USA

My wife and I are Egyptians and currently living in the United States on L2 & L1 visa respectively. Meanwhile, both of us are permanent residents in Canada and we did our landing in May 2011 (6 months ago). We are expecting a baby and her due date is March 2012. Our Canadian status is extremely important for us, We have medical insurance here in USA and we are willing to buy medical insurance in Canada.

Is it better to deliver the baby here in USA or Canada? If USA is better, what are the procedures to get the baby a Canadian status later on?

If the child is born in the US then one of you has to return to Canada to sponsor the child and remain in Canada during the sponsorship process. You can't sponsor outside Canada as a PR.

If your baby is born in the US, he/she will likely have triple citizenship (US/Canada/Egypt).
Might be handy later on...

Unless you have lots of money to spare, USA is your better option. You will be paying cash at full cost. It is highly unlikely you will be able to "buy" canadian medical insurance for a preexisting pregnancy. Check your USA insurance to see if they'll cover you for a Canadian delivery.

Isnt US born and hence citizen allowed to stay and live in Canada without any legal issue? That way, PR may not be required at all.
Is there anything that a US citizen cannot have that Canadian PR can?

No - your understanding is incorrect. A US citizen can only visit Canada as a tourist. US citizen are not allowed to live in Canada. In addition to not being allowed to live in Canada, a US citizen also can't have access to health care in Canada, won't be able to attend school in Canada, won't be able to work in Canada. etc.
