Dear Friends,
I have run into a very unique problem and am seeking urgent help from you all. I am a Indian and currently stay in USA on a work visa. Me and my husband had applied for FSWP in Canada this year with my husband as the primary applicant. We went through the entire process very smoothly and have received our passports and are yet to do the landing which must be done by this year. Last week I ran into an unfortunate incident because of which I was charged with petty theft in USA. I have hired an attorney who says I have a high chance of getting pre-trial diversion. I am now in a dilemma, because I have read that petty theft might be a ground for inadmissibility in Canada. If that is the case, what are my possible options for getting landing done? Sould I send an amendment to CIC immediately even before I try to do a landing? Can I be denied landing when I say "yes" to "have you ever been charged/convicted of a crime" in the landing form? Is Temporary Resident Permit application an option so at least I can get the landing done? Has anyone faced and overcome such a situation before? DO you have any suggestions for attorneys who might be able to help me solve this case?
Any help will give me some hope.
Thanks in advance!
