Canada post

I am just wondering if anyone knows... It's Canadian Thanksgiving on Monday... if I used Canada post express shipping and if it is already in the States, it would still be delivered by USPS?? I know I might be too obsessed about it but my passport is in it so I can't help it.

The tracking system says the package is still in the town we dropped it off but when I called the Canada post rep, she told me it is going thru the custom..they know more than what the online tracking system say? I am just worried. Thanks~~~

I once had the same holiday problem. The status on the delivery system said "Package out for delivery" and then said "Package unsuccessfuly delivered"... then next business day it said "Package out for delivery" and then "Package sucessfully delivered"... What i'm trying to say here is that even if there is delivery service, CIC will be closed and no package will be delivered.
If it's the other way around, meaning package is in Canada en route to the USA, I suppose it would go through on a holiday.
If package is already in the USA on a canadian holiday, I would like to say it has to be delivered unless it is also an observed holiday in the USA the same day.
Then again, who knows how USPS works on an american holiday.

If you are sending a passport to Canadian embassy. There will be no one available to receive it. Canadian Embassies abroad observes both Canadian and local holidays.

So even if your package is with UPS USA. They will not be able to deliver it.

ahh gotcha..thanks for the replies Robrod and Adzees. It seems like everytime I send something to them or expecting to hear from CIC, there is a holiday!!! ??? ???

I am hoping the package will get there tomorrow before it closes since I shipped it off 2 days ago on the 5th. The lady I talked to was like "um it should get there in 2 or 3 days" ??? I asked how long expresspost service should take to the States but she said she couldn't tell me since the custom might take time to process the package. Wish the online tracking said more than "Item arrived at postal facility" in our city!

I'm not too clear on the question but, I do know that Monday
is Colombus Day in the States and it is a Postal Holiday so packages prolly
will sit in their place on Monday, reguardless. Canada or the States.

I was asking if USPS was going to deliver on Canadian Thanksgiving Day (monday 12th) not realizing all the CIC workers would be off that day anyway! lol (I know I am losing my mind already)...

Ohhh yeah Columbus day! Geez holidays are everywhere! lol I guess no luck for me for Monday no matter what.
