Canada Post lost my passport

Three days ago. Canada Post xpresspost lost my passport. when I tracked my package, it showed delivered, but I looked everywhere, nothing was found.
I contacted CIC, they confirmed that they sent the passport 5 days ago. but Canada Post lost my passport during delivery.
I contacted Canada post and created a service ticket, they just asked me to wait for 3 more days, if I still cannot find passport, they ask me to call CIC and CIC have to file the claim.
when I contacted CIC, they told me that they will not file the claim because this is not impacting them, this will only impacting me.
I called Canada post again and they said if CIC does not file a claim, they cannot do anything. I was so shocked. And they said they were sorry and that is it.
In past two days, I talked to security, neighbor even the courier. nothing happened yet.
final exam time plus this and Christmas. I am so screwed.
btw. still looking for my passport now.

I guess they might have delivered it to the wrong address hoping there will be a good samaritan that can return to the right one. So, on both side there is nothing they can do? because that is really messed up.

they both did nothing.they said they are both sorry but they can not do anything to help me.
and I live in a apartment, i even checked several building next to my address, nothing has been found yet.

Wow, like 1 of them don't want to own it to their mistake? What a douche! Canada post is the actually company that delivers or do they have like partnership like dhl or fedex that way you could follow up with delivery company?

nothing I can do so far. I just have to wait and wait. I contacted everyone. if nothing happen in next couple days. I have to go to police. just in case someone stole my passport and may do something illegal.

Give it like a maximum 1 week, if not it is best to file with police. My apologies for what you are going through, I hope things turns out positive.

update.
Canada Post contacted me and they said since tracking informstion showed that it already delivered, it is not their responsibility anymore. they will transfer my case to claim department and refund 100 dollar to me. and case closed.
WORST DAY THIS YEAR.

Contact the police about your lost passport and inform your embassy right away
