Canada Post lost my passport. Now what?

Hi. So here’s my story:
I have a work permit. I applied for a visa in order to travel to my country for vacations. I got a letter from CIC where they asked me to send my passport within 30 days. I sent my passport the very same day I got the letter but the passport was never delivered to Ottawa’s CPC. Canada Post lost my passport. The question is, if I get a new passport and send it on time, will I be able to get the visa stamped in the new passport?

Send a Webform to inform IRCC of the situation and get your new passport. There shouldn't be a problem.

Thank you. It would take me 15 days to get a new passport, which means it’ll arrive at the end of the 30 day period that was given to me. Do you think IRCC could give me an extension?

If you send them a Webform, yes, they should give an extension.
