Canada Post lost my Inland sponsorship package, What risks am I facing

I sent a resubmission for my family class inland sponsorship and it seems Canada Post lost track of the package. They are running an investigation to find it and I am calling them on regular basis.

My 6 months visitor permit expires in 3 days. Although I have applied for an extension online, it takes up to 50 days to get a reply. In the meanwhile I am told that I will have "Implied" status. What if my applications including the work permit is received by CIC after 3 days and before the extension is granted (if it does),
Am I at risk of being refused the open work permit due to my "undefined" status when the application was received.

How unlucky :S !!
Can I sue Canada Post for how stressed out I am .. lol

You could try...but it's probably not worth it. We used Purolator..

If you sent them an extension request, you have implied status until they decide. Are you certain they got the request?

It shouldn't have any affect on your OWP/PR applications.

You will not have "undefined" status. Implied Status is valid legal status under the law.
