Could anyone suggest what is the procedure to obtain Canada police clearance for EE please.

You may walking to designated RCMP police clearance center (Depends on City or Town) with your Drivers License your address information.... May be your passport and work permit. You need to inform you are using the PCC for immigration and they will give you a letter while you wait.

Is this necessary to obtain after you receive an ITA? It was not required on the old CEC system
