Canada Open Work Permit

I have applied for Permanent Residence . I has been 5 month. I didn't got any update. Can I apply open work permit. However my Closed work permit still have 6 months to expire.

Can anyone suggest, Is it possible to get open work permit in this case. ?

1. You can't apply for a BOWP until your present work permit has 4 months or less validity.
