Canada citizenship application name order

Hi all,

I have a Vietnamese passport, and on my passport my full name is DO VAN AN. In Vietnamese, DO is my last name, VAN is my middle name, and AN is my first name. However on my PR card, the name displayed is last name DO, first name VAN AN, so VAN has become my first name and AN has become my middle name. The same name is also displayed on my OHIP card.

However on all other correspondences: banks, jobs, insurance, even CRA and driver license I use the name AN DO.

Now I would like to apply for Canadian citizenship. Is it possible to use last name DO, first name AN on the application form? Or it has to be last name DO, first name VAN AN as indicated on my Vietnamese passport? I do not want to use the latter because it switches my first and middle names.

A friend told me I have to apply with the name on the Vietnamese passport, and then before the citizenship test I can change the name that will be printed on the citizenship certificate.

I'm looking for some advice on this matter, thank you very much for your help.

Sincerely
