- Application received by CIC on 29Jan2009
- ECAS Status on 24Feb2009 showed in Process
- CIC Letter on 2Mar2009 requesting for additional forms
- Reply to CIC on 12Mar2009
- ECAS Status on 01Apr2009 showed Decision made (letter sent out on 30Mar2009)
- Letter received on 07Apr2009 - Sponsorship was accepted and file transmitted to Singapore office (not to Quebec?)

Hello all,

I have some good news and some hmmm, unsure news.
My sponsorship has been accepted and the file sent to the Singapore High Commission. That is GREAT news! We got about a month delay because of the forms "missing".

I have a question now.
My wife and I are planning to live in Montreal, Quebec. I was expecting the CIC letter to direct me to send forms to the MICC but they didn't mention anything about the Certificat de Selection du Quebec at all. Nada. The only mentioned that sponsorship is accepted and that the file was transferred to Singapore High Commission.

Once again, is it because this is an outland application from a Sponsor living outside of Canada that CIC is skipping MICC? Has anyone seen this case before? Is the CSQ always required for all cases going to live in Quebec?

Thank you all - Thanks for the great moral and technical support of this Forum.

Cheers,
Jean

Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
If you apply outland for your wife then the application will be sent to Singapore (no questions about that).

But when about the middle step about getting the CSQ for Quebec resident?
Any clues where this comes in then?

thanks,
Jean

jvhd, the MICC forms will not be sent to you! You need to access their website, print the forms yourself, complete them and send them of to the MICC office here in Montréal at:

Ministère de l’Immigration et des Communautés culturelles
Service de l'immigration familiale
285, rue Notre-Dame Ouest
Rez-de-chaussée, bureau G-15
Montréal (Québec) H2Y 1T8

I suggest you do this as soon as possible, MICC will not be sending anything to you. Remember when printing the forms from the website, the english copies are there to help you in completing the french ones in case you need it, but only the french forms are accepted at MICC - the only form they accept in english is the A-0520 which is the Application for a Selection Certificate (to be completed by the sponsored person).

Remember as well, that you must send a copy of the CIC letter with your undertaking application or it will be refused & returned to you. They also charge a $250.00 fee that must be sent along with your paperwork as well.

Access the website and get on this as soon as possible - the Visa processing office will not begin processing until the approval from MICC is forwarded to them! I received my CIC approval letter on March 10th, sent the forms to MICC on March 19th and got my MICC approval and my husband's Selection Certificate approx 2 weeks after that. While I was waiting for the approval from MICC, my husband's Visa processing called him regarding a separate issue and mentioned to him that they are waiting for the Quebec approval before continuing processing.

Good luck and send the forms ASAP to avoid processing delays.

Another thing I forgot to add... once approved, MICC will forward a letter to the processing office to let them know and processing will then continue!

Hope this helps!
