Canada Child benefit pls help~

Hi All,
I have a Canada-born baby in July 2014. My wife and I hold work permit since 2013-10.
We have applied for Canada child benefit in 2015-04 cause we have to meet the 18-month-stay condition.
Current online CRA report shows that my baby's benefit only starts in 2015-05.
Is this correct? Why doesn't it start from 2014-07?

Because you didn't meet 18 month requirement at that time.

New benefit cycle starts June or July each year.
