You're going to have to put some effort into it, the job market in Calgary is pretty competitive in some fields. I would recommend working on a good resume and finding jobs on sites like Indeed, kijiji, or Canada job bank. Good luck.

Very difficult time in Alberta nowadays due to oil crisis. So many layoffs.

Shouldn't be hard to find any kind of simple job in Calgary, even with the recession going on.

Have you tried just going in person with a resume to various places? I know some of the big box stores don't always let you do that any more but I've gotten every one of my non-professional jobs this way.

Check out things like facebook groups for the area as well, or even the Calgary subreddit or other forums.

try material handling at Federated Co-op. If you make it past 2nd interview choose food warehouse.

You have to work smart and hard. Once you make it past probation period you got it made.
