Can you do court marriage in Canada while on Restoration

Hi There,
My application for extension of temporary foreign work permit got refused due to LMIA not reaching CIC office in time and now I have applied for restoration and waiting for my application to be processed. There is a wait time of 4+ months out of which 2 months has already passed. I have been seeing somebody who is Canadian citizen for a while and we are planning to marry but I am not sure if I should wait for my work permit status restoration and then marry or can I get married without any complications and my spouse can file papers for my sponsorship.

Yes, you can get married. And yes, your spouse can sponsor you while you are in the restoration period. If you apply inland you won't qualify for the open work permit pilot since you are out of status.
