Can you confirm your Medical exam results online? on the phone? anyway?

My friend has been asking me this question:

He has taken medical exam for his new work permit in Edmonton in early Feb. He has not heard anything yet. He is quite concerned.
Is there anyway he can find out? Any phone number to call? Some people say you could even walk up to a kiosk at Service Canada Centres and they will verify with your id. Is this correct info?

My wife had the medical exam done 8 months ago and the clinic told her that they will submit the results electronically.
We didn't hear anything yet...
How can we inquire about the results or the status?
