Can you apply for federal gov. positions on OWP?

Hi, I'm trying to apply for part time work with DFO. I've been told I need security clearance for this but this can only be done once I have my PR or citizenship - I only have an OWP and am still waiting for PR. Am struggling to find any information regarding on gov webpages.

What does the job posting state as most times you need PR or citizenship for government jobs? The bottom of the job postings states who can apply.

Theres no job posting, its a word of mouth situation. I just find it odd that i) I have a federally granted OWP and ii) cannot find anything info about this on gov websites

All federal job postings have at the bottom of the posting a statement on who can apply. So if it is word of mouth then ask for the job posting. An OWP is still a temporary worker not a citizen or PR.

You can't work there because you won't be able to get security clearance.
