Can you add stuff/money to bring from your home country after you land?

Hi guys,

I have a question, you how the officer asks you at the border if you are planning on bringing any stuff or money from back home at the time of landing?

At the time of landing I said no (after 5 years I forgot about my savings back home!)

Now I am planning to buy a house and I want to bring this money for the down payment

Can I call IRCC or somewhere to tell them that I am bringing x amount of dollars? Or is it too late now ?

Hi guys,

That's only for Cash you would have brought with you (same question when you arrive in Canada everytime).

You can absolutely transfer money from your foreign bank account to your Canadian one. It is also after tax money therefore CRA doesn't get involved with it either (but it cares about the income you earned on it while you were a resident in Canada so you may want to look at that to make sure you do it properly if it earned some income).

Oh no! It's too late now. Your PR will get void and you have to leave Canada! Why did you lie about it at landing? How can you forget about your saving bank account at home? I mean... talking about red flags! Good luck buddy! If I were you I would shut up about it and say nothing.
