I am sure a bank would be delighted to open an account for your Mum...just tell her to take photo ID, they will probably want several pieces of ID.

I opened an account in RBC as a visitor

They asked for a reference letter from my bank back home (faxed), possibly it was only due to some complication that was present in my specific situation. Anyway, they were happy to open a bank account for me, and I got the impression that most of the large banks would be

hiii ... i think yes... they usually ask what kind of visa a person is on and see the id.. and open a bank account accordingly....

I am on visitor visa. Please let me know what all documents I need to open a bank account and what type of bank account can I open. Please also let me know which bank should I approach. I have contacted Simplii and they are telling that I need either Canadian passport or Canadian Permanent Resident Card which I do not have.

Check with national bank if u are in edmonton,d bank is opposite city mall,that was where i opened my acct wen i was in canada for delivery
