can we get our things back after the tempet is over ?

hey guys tell me are they gonna send us our things back when they are finished with them ; i mean all the documents and cards and such things ; because some are personal souvenirs like letters .

I think so. Never heard of them keeping the letters, cards, pictures... Just in case, my husband and I are sending only copies of it - except for the pictures, but that we can print again if they don't send back.

You should only send copies - no pictures, letter etc will be returned.

They are as good as gone. They get rid of them sooner or later.

Do that depend of the office where it is processed then? In São Paulo they give everything back, unless they lose it.

Actually when I think about it, we did get our marriage certificate back (although it was a copy). None of the other documents were returned to us. We applied via Detroit.

What about reference letters, letters of support from family, friends, church etc. Do I send copies or originals?

Wow...you are saying that some offices give stuff back? Lima doesn't, unless you go to the office and ask for it and if they feel like it, they might.
Inland Vegreville, doesn't return anything, as far as I know.

Yes, Anatolia, at least the office here in my country, but from what I could see here, it isn't the same in all offices. They only keep the forms, but all pictures, letters, cards, etc, are sent back. I e-mailed the office and they confirmed it some time ago.
