Can we extend visitors visa for my mother

Hello Forum

My mother has Visitors visa for Canada which will expire on April 2017. My mom also have US visitor's visa. She has traveled to US and Canada last year. She is in India at present.
I wanted her to visit us (Canada) now and stay for 6 months with us.
My question for you is
1) Can she come to Canada now and then go to US and spend a month or 2 in US and apply for visitor's visa again for Canada from US? (as her visa expires in April 2017)
2) Can we extend her visitors visa from Inside Canada while she is here with us as her visa expires in April 2017 ?

Answer to Q2) You can apply to extend their stay while they are here in Canada, that's what my mother did.
She was given a visa from Nov till May 2016 but she came to Canada in January and her passport was stamped till July 2016, so we extended her stay in June and she was given 4 more months. Hope this helps.
