Can we do CMA while on a post-graduation work permit?

Hello everyone,

I recently discovered this forum, and found it to be quite useful. I am a new user on this website, and wanted some help regarding the subjected topic.

I would like to start my CMA (Certified Management Accountant designation), and I am qualified to write the entrance examination. I am just not sure whether I can do CMA while on a post-graduation work permit. Do I require a study permit? Any feedback would help. Also, would be highly grateful if anyone can provide some sort of official reference i.e. CIC website etc.

I must also mention that my post graduation work permit states that "unless authorized, must not attend any educational institution or take any academic, professional or vocational training course.

Hi,

1. You don't need a study permit if you plan to study a program that lasts 6 months or less. You can't study as a registered full time student. You can study via online/distance/part time (without registered as a student.)
2. If you plan to complete 'CMA Accelerated Program' which require you to complete 16 (or 17) prerequisite courses, you may consider the option of online/distance mode.
